“Are you running your business, or is your business running you?”
If you feel like you’re constantly
❗firefighting,
❗stuck in the weeds,
❗struggling to align your team,
you’re not alone.
A roller-coaster ride may be exhilarating, but, it’s no way to effectively run a business!
Many growing businesses hit a ceiling,
not because they lack talent or effort,
but because they lack the right processes
to bring clarity, accountability, and execution discipline.
Two years ago the business I helped to lead decided we wanted to improve our vision and align
our core values, having gone through a period of significant growth.
We decided on a well known approach, and engaged with a consulting firm, to assist us to land the transformational change we felt the business needed.
However, it failed to land, because people in the team either failed to see the benefits or saw it as ‘just another internal project’.
I’ve become aware of other businesses wasting time, energy, and money trying to scale without a clear structure.
Symptoms of this include:
❌Leadership misalignment
– everyone pulling in different directions
❌No real accountability
– goals are set, but nothing changes
❌Constant “shiny object syndrome”
– jumping from one initiative to another
❌Hitting a growth ceiling
– working harder but not seeing real progress
I saw some of these personally in the business as we sought to handle ‘the challenges of growth’.
Then, during a break from work, I listened to a book that started to create a host of ideas and questions running in my head.
The book was ‘Get a Grip’, and I followed it up with reading ‘Traction’, ‘Rocket Fuel’ and ‘How to be a Great Boss’, all part of the same EOS series.
They introduced me to a systemic approach to setting a path for your growing business, aligned to your vision, core values and focus.
LinkedIn is full of ‘experts’ offering the world, with very little experience once you delve into their profiles.
On the other hand, EOS is a simple, proven framework that helps businesses get clear on vision, strengthen execution, and build healthy leadership teams.
As I have transitioned into running my own company, I have utilised the approach in my own business and encouraged others to utilise it in theirs.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be breaking down the biggest pain points businesses face and how EOS can help solve them
↪️so you can regain control and scale with confidence.
